Uma Ukpai Polytechnic was established to be a centre of excellence and research to educate, train and become the citadel of innovation for the growing Nigerian economy.

The goal of Government is to produce from the tertiary
institutions, a crop of new graduates equipped with the skills to generate enterprises for their self-employment and to employ others. Consequently, the institution was established with following objectives;
