We offer CERTIFICATE, REMEDIAL, IJMB and ND (National Diploma) programs in Management, Science, Engineering and Technology Course.

The institution, initially known as Akwa Ibom State School of Remedial Studies opened for classes on 17th November, 1997 with an intake of 150 students.
Primarily, it was established by the Government of Akwa Ibom State to address the problem of admission of our candidates into tertiary institutions of learning, especially the Universities.

The Akwa Ibom State College of Arts and Science is located in Nung Ukim, Ikono Local Government Area and has a land mass of 100 acres which was freely donated for citing Ikono People’s High School in 1972 which is at present, the property of Akwa Ibom State College of Arts and Science. This favourable location draws the school far away from the effects of social pollution which adversely affected and led to the closure of the defunct School of Arts and Science

Students are only admitted through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination except students doing the part time (if applicable) or preliminary programme.
Admission into SSCE & IJMB programme of the College shall be in accordance with the College admission procedures. Students applying for any ND programme shall be admitted through the Polytechnic Joint Matriculation Board Examination Board (Poly-JAMB), while Pre-ND Students are admitted by the College.
