SPAR in Nigeria is operated by Artee Industries Limited popularly known as Artee Group. SPAR stores in Nigeria are built on hypermarket retail format and offers a wide range of product categories namely; Grocery, Bakery, Butchery, Fruits & Vegetables, Hot Meals, Wine & Spirits, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Small Home Appliances, Consumer Electronics, Mobile Phones, Laptops & Tablets, Perfumes, Watches and Jewelry. SPAR is a part of the global retail chain originating from Holland. SPAR international has given the Master Franchise of the SPAR brand to Artee Group for its operations in Nigeria. Unlike across many countries where SPAR operates on a sub-franchise model to independent retailers, in Nigeria, SPAR operates their own stores.

Today, SPAR is operating 10 stores across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt & Calabar aggregating over 34,000 m2 of retail space, thus making it the largest chain of hypermarket stores in Nigeria. Presently, SPAR stores are located in Victoria Island, Lekki, Maryland Ikeja, MMA2 Terminal Campus, Ilupeju, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Calabar. The latest SPAR store was launched in Calabar Mall, Next to Cultural Centre. SPAR store in Calabar was conceived and designed to cater to people in Calabar and Cross River State. SPAR as a hypermarket brand, takes cognizance of the various kinds of shopping missions and adapts its products and services in respect of Choice, Quality, Service and Value to translate the entire shopping experience into a World Class One.

Artee Group is working on an aggressive roll out plan of SPAR stores across Nigeria. By the end of 2016, SPAR will be a 5 city operator with over 40,000 m2 of retail space from 12 stores. Apart from strengthening the presence in the existing cities of Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Calabar SPAR stores will also penetrate new geographies like Abia, Enugu, Asaba to name a few. Artee Group’s belief in innovation in the retail space was manifested with the launch of the first retail co-branded credit card under the Park n Shop Diamond Bank Credit Card, followed by the Plastic Gift Card. SPAR is the only retail chain in Nigeria to offer Loyalty scheme to its customers under the SPAR Reward Card program.
