DIAMONDSHIELD HEALTH SERVICES LTD, a Health Maintenance organization (HMO) which was incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission and Accredited by the NHIS to carry out business of provision of Health Insurance to corporate organizations, private individuals, public and civil servants and to participate in the National Health Insurance scheme (NHIS).

Health insurance is a social security system that guarantees the provision of needed services to persons on payment of token contributions at regular intervals.

The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is a corporate body established under Act 35 of 1999 by the Federal Government of Nigeria to improve the Health of all Nigerians at an affordable cost. The NHIS Act is the statutory authority for the scheme benefits programme as well as sets the general rules and guidelines for the operation of the scheme.

It is a very key element of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and NEEDS strategy and has been embarked upon by the FEDERAL, and some STATE GOVERNMENTS and most CORPORATE BODIES in Nigeria since August 2005.

Diamondshield Health Services Ltd (DHS) was born out of a desire to provide the generality of the populace an insured channel to accessible and affordable Healthcare delivery irrespective of social or financial status.

We are a Health Management Organization that provides a form of health insurance coverage in Nigeria that is fulfilled through hospitals, doctors, and other providers with which we are in contract.

DHS was incorporated by Corporate Affairs Commission, with an authorized share capital of N100, 000,000.00 (one Hundred million Naira) with ownership residing with institutional and private investors, to function precisely as a Health maintenance organization, to carry out the business of provision of Health Insurance.

DHS currently operates a regional office scheme with Regional offices located in Lagos (South Western Region), Abuja (Northern Region), Port Harcourt (South – South Region), Owerri (Eastern Region). Our future plan is to cover the six geopolitical regional structures in Nigeria.
